Attorney Background

Since 1995, Matthew G. Berger has represented and advised individuals and businesses in Connecticut.

He is currently admitted to:

  • The Connecticut Superior Court
  • The Bars of New York
  • Massachusetts
  • The Mohegan Gaming Dispute Courts
  • The Mohegan Tribal Court

Matthew is an Attorney Trial Referee and an Attorney Arbitrator for the Connecticut Superior Court.

He is a member of the Statewide Grievance Committee.

Matt was president of the New London County Bar Association and is a longtime member both of that association and the Connecticut Criminal Lawyers Defense Association.

In addition to numerous seminar materials he is the author of “Mary Hall: The Decision and The Lawyer” Volume 79 No. 1 Connecticut Bar Journal (2006). He was an alternate member of the New London Planning and Zoning Commission as well as Chair of the Stonington Inland Wetlands and Watercourse Commission. He was Chair of the Stonington Charter Revision Commission, and a member of the Stonington School Building Committee during the High School renovation. He is also a Justice of the Peace in the Town of Stonington and is Chair of the Stonington Zoning Board of Appeals.

Matt is a graduate of the Northeastern University School of Law, Skidmore College,  and holds a M.A. in U.S. History from the Rutgers University Graduate School in New Brunswick. He is also a graduate of New London High School.
